Houston Police Arrest Two in Connection with Murder of 12-Year-Old Girl
Two men have been charged with capital murder in the death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, according to the Houston Police Department.
The body of Nungaray was found floating in a creek on Thursday, June 23, 2023. Police said the girl had been reported missing two days earlier.
The two men, identified as 19-year-old Jose Gilberto Rodriguez Jr. and 20-year-old Jose Luis Mejia, were arrested on Friday, June 24, 2023. The arrests were made with the assistance of the Houston Police Department's Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Police said Rodriguez and Mejia are both charged with capital murder. They are being held without bond in the Harris County Jail.
The investigation into Nungaray's death is ongoing. Police said they are still working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
